**Are you Operations Manager/Specialist/Chemist with experience in Wastewater Treatment?

Then we want to talk to you**The Operations Manager, supported by their team, is primarily responsible for the safe and successful operation of water and wastewater assets at a newly commissioned Waste Water Treatment Plant located within the site of an internationally recognised customer.

This is a broad ranging role which impacts all aspects of the plant e.g., safety, Resource Management, process performance, maintenance, execution of development projects and commercial contract management.


By managing resources, risk/cost and delivering on contractual commitments, the Operations Manager will drive operational excellence and ensure high reliability and efficiency of the water and wastewater systems.

The Operations Manager will also drive continualimprovement and generate value for customer throughout the contract life.

The Operations Manager will need to demonstrate/develop a high degree of Contract management ability to successfully deliver on a multi-tiered contract structure.

It will be necessary to simultaneously represent the different interests of several parties inany situation and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders in both positive and challenging situations is important.

The primary site for this role is near Scarborough but there is the opportunity to take on additional sites in the area.


What will I be doing

  • Maintenance and implementation of Quality, Health & Safety, Environment (QHSE) systems
  • Collaborate with all Support functions (QHSE, Technical Development, Asset Care Coordinator & Finance)
  • Own contract and or Permit compliance
  • Control of Operational Budget and site performance
  • Control of costs on projects & provide Project Leadership where needed
  • Analyse operational and process risks within the context of a long term site service contract and manage their mitigation
  • Act as primary customer interface for assigned contracts
  • Identify threats and opportunities in the operation of the plant and respond to these.
  • Identify and assist in delivering business develop opportunities for the company at customer site
  • Highlight and fill in gaps associated with technical documentation and procedures
  • Ensure proper resources are available and sufficiently trained / experienced
  • Support the development of training and competence material
  • Carry out 'on the job' training of technicians (supported by Territory Manager)
  • Ensure team exhibit proactive attitude and approach to maintaining and Continually Improving plant performance. This will also include value generation.
  • Support the development of a culture of ownership, involvement, and accountability within the plant operations team
  • Lead by example
- up to 10%, Private Pension

  • 4.5 ER and Life Assurance.

What are the requirements?

  • Background or qualification in (any of): Waste water treatment / Chemistry / Chemical engineering / Contract Management (Essential)
  • Training/Experience in Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety system (Desirable)
  • Demonstrated technical or operational knowledge of water / waste water treatment (Desirable)
  • Experience working directly with a Customer including attending, facilitating and contributing to meetings (Essential)
  • Leadership experience in the management of a team of operators, skilled technicians and engineers (Essential)
  • Project management experience (Desirable)
  • PC literacy (Essential)
  • Experience of sales process to extend services offered to customers
  • Time management skills (Essential)
  • Contract & Subcontractor management (Desirable)
