About the Department:


The department is comprised of experienced Educational Developers and Learning Design Technologists with a wealth of experience in academic teaching and learning technologies.


_About the __Role_**Working as a member of the Learning Technology and Design team, this role will provide technical support to all School users in using the university's digital learning platforms as effectively as possible. The role will operate within the School while maintaining close links with the Academic Development Team.

This role will also promote, support and progress the embedding of Digital Learning within courses at the school.


Key responsibilities:

  • To propose, design, develop, test and implement learning technology solutions to support all the School's provision to maximise service quality, efficiency and continuity, ensuring the meeting of defined objectives.
  • To provide an interface between academic staff and learning technology using technological skills to support the development of rich electronic course materials to support the student experience for distance, blended and facetoface learning programmes.
  • To take a proactive role in providing technologyenhanced learning support for the University's remote users
  • Providing critical advice to academics, professional support staff and assisting students' in their use of Virtual Learning Environments (VLE).
  • To contribute to research activity, in close collaboration with colleagues across Library & Learning Innovation, through analysing and evaluating the potential for new technology to support distance, blended and facetoface learning.
  • To analyse and identify elearning needs and design and implement elearning technologies and interactive multimedia resources most suited to the School's programmes.
  • To participate in and lead, as assigned, or contribute to larger School wide projects to analyse business information and/or data as part of a project team to support the achievement of agreed project objectives.
  • To prepare a range of papers, reports, spreadsheets, databases and other statistical analyses, to facilitate the interpretation of specific issues/problems and support decision making.
