Are you currently working in a client services, bid management or business development capacity in one of the professional services?

Our client is a leading UK law firm, advisors to many of the UK's leading businesses and public sector organisations.

With local, national and international reach, they employ over 1,000 people in offices across the UK and in a network of partner firms acrossEurope, India and the US.

They have asked us to find them a Senior Client Engagement Manager to join the business and client development team at their growing practice and take ownership of their most significant Public sector client relationships with the remit of influencing the directionof their Public Sector practice.

A client-facing role, you will be working with client relationship partners and their teams to develop deep and robust commercial relationships and help to deliver profitable results.

You will be supported by a Bid Manager a Client Development Executive, as well as business services professionals from across Business Development, FutureLaw, Knowledge Management, L&D, ED&I, Sustainability, Risk and IT teams.

Internal Responsibilities

  • Work with stake holders to manage the delivery of contractual requirements (framework reporting, financial reporting, training etc) for nominated key clients ensuring central visibility and oversight.
  • Create and deliver strategic client development plans,
  • Run regular, outputfocused client team meetings to share knowledge, identify opportunities for crossselling and put forward and plan client development activities.
  • Share relationship investment, service delivery and client development best practice.
  • Use client intelligence portal and CRM system to share client insights, tools and best practice.
  • Work with the Client Engagement team on the roll out and support of a robust client management programme (including client listening) to support the management of all clients
  • Communicate the work we are doing with clients across the firms through internal communications channels.
External Responsibilities

  • Help to broaden the relationship across the client's business and across the firm to institutionalise client relationships.
  • Map client relationships identifying gaps where the firm can deepen and grow relationships.
  • Recognise issues of importance to key clients and develop hot topics and legal/sector insights, giving the firm incentives to engage fully with clients.
  • Manage regular relationship review meetings, including research, setting agendas, drafting relationship review reports and managing the follow up actions.
  • Lead on all aspect of Public Sector panel and framework management, leveraging the opportunities and working with other business service colleagues to ensure all obligations and reporting requirements are fulfilled
  • Actively build a personal network of client relationships with panel managers, procurement professionals, PA's, etc.
  • Lead on panel reviews for clients in the programme and share relevant information with other departments
  • Promote the work being carried out with clients through external communications including website, social media channels and PR activity.
Your Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record of client management / business development within a professional services environment
  • Experience managing major bids with an emphasis on stakeholder and project management
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills gains respect and credibility quickly
  • Excellent copy writing, editing and proof reading skills with strong attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic, confident, proactive, persistent and robust
  • Good organisational skills
  • Financially literate
  • Able to work well under pressure and drive through major projects to completion
  • Able to understand wider business issues and develop new ideas to add value to the client development / BD process
