Purpose of the Role
StarCity Entertainment have an exciting job opportunity for a Waste Operative working within our centre's team.


Star City Entertainment Centre in Birmingham is a diverse, busy, vibrant place of work that hosts an array of eateries, attractions and one of the largest cinemas in Europe that can all be enjoyed by the whole family.


Main duties will include:

  • Maintain the service yard areas and waste compound areas
  • Completing daily waste and recycling tasks
  • Maintaining safe and clean BOH areas
  • Supporting the cleaning team with daily tasks when required

Key Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Duty Manager & Cleaning team leader.
  • Work alongside the cleaning team
  • Provide excellent customer service to our guests, tenants, and contractors
  • Ability to contribute to the team
  • Excellent communicator
  • Positive attitude
  • Fulfil daily tasks set
  • Attention to detail
  • Keeping the building FOH & BOH areas clean
  • High standards maintained in our yard area
  • Driving tug, forklift & road sweeper
  • Operating the baling machine
  • Operating the waste compactors
  • General & food waste compactors
  • Operating bin wash machine

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Ensuring that you are proactive
  • Prioritising workload
  • Communication
  • Problem solving and reporting back with any non compliance issues


Working Hours - Full time working hours, 37.5 Hours per week, 09:00 - 15:00 & 15:00 - 23:00, 5 days a week, will include weekends.

Overtime available

Salary - £10.85 per hour
