This role will be based within the secretarial team.

In this role you will be in constant contact with Medical Secretaries, Consultants, Nurses and Shared Care service and other Multidiscplinary teams.

You will be first point of contact between patients and the consultant. You will be based at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

A Medical Secretary is an essential and very important role.

This person will manage waiting lists for their own consultant both inpatient and outpatient, set up and book patients into clinics, organise their dairy, minute take for meetings when needed, type clinic letters and answer patient phone calls.

This role assists the consultant in providing an excellent pathway taking the patient from referral to treatment. You will also help cover when other secretaries within the team are on annual leave.
