Solution Architect - Fully Remote

This is a crucial role where you'll be working on a number of greenfield projects involving a number of integrations, data ecosystems and deployments, you'll also provide architectural leadership and guidance to the Development Teams responsible for the developmentand maintenance of the business's products to ensure a stable, secure and maintainable platform.

This is a hybrid/remote role so you'll be able to work fully remote if required, or if you prefer going into the office then they're based near Reading.


The successful Solution Architect is responsible for:

  • The software architecture of the platform to facilitate the development and maintenance of the business's products
  • Ensuring architectural governance exists and that the architectural strategy is communicated to the development team effectively
  • Propose and design (prototyping or implementing where appropriate) solutions to meet high level business needs
  • Provide technical input into the requirements gathering process
  • Drive forward the adoption of best practices, tooling, processes and new technologies through training, coaching and documentation
  • Identifying and overseeing research into technologies that provide opportunities of interest

The successful Solution Architect will have/be:

  • Experience working on a high traffic, high availability website platform with large datasets
  • Experience in software development methodologies
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to translate business needs into technology requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation as well as training, coaching and influencing
  • TOGAF Qualified
  • Experience with SEO on high performing websites.
  • Object oriented design and development
  • Docker/Kubernetes and other containerisation strategies
  • Technical Experience in or exposure to:
  • Expert Modern Perl, PHP
  • Linux
  • PSGI/Plack
  • Nginx
  • MySQL, Solr
  • Git, Jenkins
  • AWS
In return you'll be rewarded with a salary of up to £85,000 as well as a generous benefits package.
