Description

We are a reputable law firm seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, ambitious individual to join our close knit and successful team based at our offices in Stamford, Lincolnshire on a fixed term period.


This role is full time (35 hours per week) and is a fantastic opportunity to work in a lively and friendly office.


Role and Responsibilities
To provide administration and assistance to a Conveyancing Team including:

  • To progress active conveyancing transactions.
  • Contacting Clients, Agents, Referrers, Search providers and other parties Solicitors to progress active conveyancing transactions.
  • Keep those in the private client department updated on transactions which are connected.
  • Requesting documentation fundamental to the transaction.
  • Ensuring documents are returned by Clients and work providers, prompting them if required and progressing transactions.
  • Dealing with sale, purchase, remortgage and other matters to the extent delegated by the Fee Earner, to include any preliminary matters on both sale and purchase files; Obtaining all required documentation from the client, otherside, third parties (such as HMLR, HMRC and Lenders); Drafting sale contracts and remortgage documentation as required by the Property Lawyer; Dealing with Lenders on both sale and purchase matters, checking redemption statements, downloading mortgage offers and dealing with the financial calculations relating to the same as required by the Property Lawyer; Compiling correspondence as directors by the fee earner
  • Preparing Payment requests and accounts paperwork requested by the Fee Earner
  • Ensuring the timely closing down of files post completion
  • Telephone enquiries as received into the office.
  • To carry out work required for general office management or office functionality as required by the director(s) and to exercise confidentiality when doing so.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role with use of Infotrack, case management systems and other portals such as Land Registry, HMRC SDLT etc.
  • Educated in English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent Grade C or above). Degree education would be desirable.
