Are you seeking a rewarding job that combines your skills at producing high-quality creative projects with your passion for working with communities? This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team building a creative and community-led public events and engagement programme in advance of the opening of the new London Museum in West Smithfield in 2026.

Projects will include outdoor summer events for families, Open House tours of the new London Museum site, supporting the delivery of community partner creative projects and skills development programmes for local young people and producing an annual commission in Smithfield.

The role will also include the planning, consultation, development and delivery of a new community-centred meanwhile use space close to the new museum site, and overseeing the work of an Engagement Coordinator and volunteers to ensure the successful day-to-day delivery of the programme.

You will have a successful track record of delivering outstanding creative projects and programmes with and for a range of audiences, including those who face barriers to cultural engagement, in a heritage, arts or community setting, as well as experience of working in partnership with community groups and organisations in the initiation, development and delivery of projects.

You will have a commitment to anti-racist practice and putting diversity and inclusion at the heart of your work.

Previous experience of working in a museum is not required and you do not need to have academic qualifications, we are looking for someone who has excellent creative, practical production and problem-solving skills, with great interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to motivate and get the best out of people.
