Full time:
A total of 40 hours per week working Monday to Friday


Placement: 52 Weeks


£1000 Bursary provided

Purpose of Job/Key objectives
Planning and conducting English lessons to adults with low level proficiency of English.

This will involve preparing lessons, meeting with the learners regularly providing support and encouraging them to learn to the best of their ability.


Role of the English Co-ordinator


The role will include organising the different times and days for the lessons and ensuring that all the course material is covered under a 24 week period.

Assessing the student's abilities through the use of formal and informal assignments. Providing suggestions for improvement and marking their work to check their progress.


Principal Duties/Tasks and responsibilities

  • Preparing lesson plans
  • Teaching lessons to students
  • Encouraging students and acting as a teacher advisor for students
  • Maintaining discipline in the classroom
  • Opportunities for training to develop skills further
  • Working with funders and local colleges
  • Meeting deadlines
  • CELTA (Cambridge)
  • CertTESOL (Trinity)
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training
