The Opportunity


Curtiss-Wright is looking for a Press Operator to join our Avionics and Defense Solutions Division at our state-of-the-art-facility by Bournemouth Airport.

Reporting to Operations Supervisor, the Press Operator will work as part of a Production Cell producing Inner Core Assemblies for the MPFR product to the requirements of the Master Production Schedule and Quality Management System.

Your Challenge:

  • Manufacturing cores to a final configured product utilizing process and drawing instructions and blueprints and specialized tooling and fixtures, measuring equipment and hand tools.
  • Comply with all Company and personal Health and Safety requirements.
  • Comply with all Quality Management System requirements.
  • Contribute to control document (Routing/Work Instruction/Quality and Repair Schedules etc.) maintenance as necessary.
  • Perform production operations in accordance with standard Routings / Drawings and approved methods of production (ISO, JAA etc.)
  • Maintain 6S in work area.
  • Perform routine minor maintenance and look for Continuous Improvement opportunities.
  • May provide training and support to others as required.
  • Stage inspection of product at required interval to verify accuracy of work.

Your Expertise:

  • Relevant experience in mechanical assembly techniques, and the ability to demonstrate competence to successfully carry out the requirements of the role.
  • Ideally have previous experience using a hydraulic press tool
  • Some computer literacy to input information into a Manufacturing System and find Parts Lists and Drawings
