Retrieve Adult Critical Care Transfer Service - Duty Consultant

Sessional (2+ operational shifts + 1 non-resident on-call per month) to staff 12/7 rota in each operational base


An exciting opportunity has arisen for consultants in Intensive Care Medicine and / or Anaesthesia working in hospitals within the South West Critical Care Network to joinRetrieve, the South West Adult Critical Care Transfer Team hosted by University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust.


We are looking for dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic consultants to co-ordinate, undertake and remotely supervise adult critical care transfers as well as contribute toRetrieveeducation, training, clinical governance and outreach programmes.


The minimum commitment is 2 operational shifts per month (10am to 10pm) and 1 non-resident on-call shift delivering decision-support, triage and coordination of transfers for the region.


There are two operational base locations:

  • Peninsula Base located at Launceston Minor Injury Unit
  • Severn Base located at Southmead Hospital in Bristol
