A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced site based HR Assistant to join the Hovis HR team at our Dagenham Distribution Centre, to enable Hovis to deliver on its vision of being the best quality brand in bakery.


Role Purpose:

To provide the HR department with administrative support, enabling the function to provide an effective service to the wider Dagenham team


Key Accountabilities:


Service Management

  • Respond to requests with fast and accurate turnarounds an din line with agreed SLA's

Absence Management

  • Daily update of department trackers
  • Manage all absence notifications and return to works received through the HR mail box
  • Management of absence recording and reporting
  • Prepare weekly absence figures and update the Company tracker

Payroll

  • Update SAP as required ensuring accurate absence recording using the correct payment codes for sickness absence
  • In conjunction with HRM check monthly payroll report when available
  • Liaise with Payroll on any queries raised by Colleagues and feedback outcome to Colleague in a timely manner
  • Prepare Out of Cycle payments as required

Communications

  • Update Site Notice Boards as required
  • Promote and foster an environment of open communication
  • Support FLM's with minute taking at ER meetings and preparation of outcome letters

Recruitment

  • Provide recruitment support for the operation
  • Arrange assessments and interviews as required
  • Carry out Right to Work checks on successful applicants
  • Manage HR induction and assist with onboarding new starters where required

People & Processes

  • Support the HRM on ad hoc projects at site
  • Contribute to the achievement of HR KPIs including but not limited to attracting and retaining the right people; developing people; sickness absence etc

Key Outputs/Metrics/Key Relationship

  • Constantly challenges the status quo to ensure process efficiency and effectiveness is maximised at all times
  • Support delivery of HR employee KPIs
  • Support delivery of people plans
  • Support delivery of communications plan and engagement strategy
