At Steris AST we are the trusted experts in technology-neutral sterilization services including radiation and gas modalities.

We offer electron beam, gamma, X-ray, ethylene oxide and vaporized hydrogen peroxide technologies for the purpose of product sterilization.

Whether that product be a single use medical device, consumables in a hospital environment, cosmetics and toiletries, or industrial products, we make sure everything that makes its way to an end user is safe for use or consumption.

Position Summary:

To be a team leader managing a team and providing effective guidance. Responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members daily.

As a team leader, you will be the contact point for all team members, so your communication skills should be excellent.

You should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration. Lead by example at all times engaging the team to achieve shared goals.

Duties:

Quality

Manage physical quarantine process within procedures.
Ensure all Nonconformance forms are completed to the required standards by all operatives on shift.
To alert the Supervisor to any process, job related problems or discrepancies and support with resolution.
Strict adherence to Site GMP and maintaining Quality Standards
To assist in Nonconformance and root cause analysis investigations and reporting through gathering information and attending NC meetings when required.
Knowledge of root cause analysis tools.
Ensure all damage on shift is correctly reported and investigated where required.

Cost

Record and monitor consumable stocks.
To take the initiative in contacting the support services such as Maintenance, IT, QA, and Management in the event of a Plant fault during silent hours when appropriate
To take the initiative and resolve labour cover in an event of unplanned labour shortages in supervisors' absence.
Undertake basic frontline maintenance repairs.
Attend RPA course and gain certificate.

Delivery

Take ownership of the Plant SQDC boards and lead daily PIT meetings.
To identify, verify and label customer's product and place the correct dosimeters in conjunction with standard operating procedures.
Process all Customer's product in line with special instructions and processing parameters.
Conduct daily handover ensuring all relevant records and standards are adhered to in absence of site supervisor.
To Maintain and constantly improve the Site 5S Standards throughout the duration of the shift.
To ensure the Routine Dosimeters are read, by an authorised person.
To ensure cleaning of areas to standards are completed at the end of each shift and cleaning register completed daily.
Carry out GDP checks and resolve where possible.
Good strong knowledge of all areas of the site.
To work with scheduling team to ensure products are processed in accordance with the product qualification

Safety

To take responsibility, for the security of the premises, opening and closing the site and Customer goods.
Identified safety concerns to be recorded using site procedure and escalate to the appropriate site safety representative.
To ensure all staff are wearing appropriate PPE throughout the shift
To ensure any safety data sheets are reviewed and acted on accordingly.
Conduct and report regular safety checks.
Monitor and review near misses show improvement and consistency.
Monitor and review TRACA observations show improvement and consistency.
To record any site incidents using Navigator system.

People

To lead and motivate the team, as well as undertaking operator duties, ensuring that instructions given by Management are communicated clearly.
To deputise for Supervisor when appropriate.
To ensure that all tasks are performed with due recognition of safety and environmental risks, maintaining equipment, and wearing protective clothing as appropriate.
Assist with the required training standards and plans
Record and report Lateness and absence
To ensure onthejob feedback given to operators —resulting in consistent feedback through to performance evaluations
To assign warehouse labour accordingly.

Leadership

Act as a leader in the team showing resourcefulness and integrity.
