Construction Skills Tutor


A unique opportunity to work within the charitable sector teaching construction as a vocational skill to students aged in school.


This opportunity is open to teachers, those working in construction with training experience or someone working in a teaching or D&T assistant role who would like to grow their career in education - we offer PTTLS training and support.


You will be provided with a van with all the tools and materials needed to teach the course and will attend schools across your area for 2-hour weekly sessions per school, across an academic year.


You will join a team of six experienced tutors who work in the full range of mainstream, special needs schools and pupil referral units.

We currently teach over 430 students a year from a range of units covering joinery, plumbing, electrics, careers pathways and employability skills.


Salary:
£28-34,000 dependent on experience


Hours:
Term-time (plus 2 weeks) Full or Part-Time


Location:
SATRO is based in Surrey and works across Berkshire, Hampshire, Sussex,

Oxfordshire and West London Boroughs.


Purpose of the Job:

SATRO are an educational charity running a fleet of seven mobile classrooms, teaching construction skills to young people aged and older in some cases) in schools across Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, Sussex, Oxfordshire and West London Boroughs.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and personable individual who has a passion to inspire and enthuse young people to reach their full potential.

We want someone who believes every young person has the potential to achieve and exceed their expectations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual who has worked in the construction industry, to teach a recognised qualification and key skills to differing groups of students and young people, including those with special needs.

An ability to accommodate differential learning is essential.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


  • A solid background and experience of working within the construction industry
  • Experience in education or training with young people
  • Ability to deal effectively with and communicate to people at all levels.
  • Able to work unsupervised and manage work to meet targets and deadlines.
  • A full clean driving license is essential for this role.

£28,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
