Join our team as a Senior Safety Advisor and play a key role in driving continuous improvement, supporting global activities, and ensuring compliance across our organization.
We have two roles open within this area - one in corporate fucntions and the other within engineering.
As the Senior Safety Advisor for either area, your primary responsibility will be to provide health, safety, and wellbeing advice, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and the JLR management system.
You will work closely with a wide range of internal customers within the Corporate Function or PE area, as well as external stakeholders.
Building strong relationships, you will influence process change, support global activities and product launch events, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve our business objectives.
In addition to your advisory role, you will support the development of Zero Harm Plans, conduct internal reviews or projects, and assess risks, processes, and controls to identify opportunities for enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of our compliance systems.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Support Corporate Functions in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives in health and safety management.
- Contribute to the implementation of the health and safety strategy through data evaluation.
- Utilize working knowledge of key H&S practices, best practices, and industry knowledge to advise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by the line manager in connection with the job's responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Essential:
- Full NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or working towards currently)
- Previous experience in health and safety at a similar level within a large organization
- Proven experience in process development, capability development, and upskilling
- Experience in business influencing and contracting
- Driving license
- Auditing experience
Desirable:
- Charter Member of IOSH or demonstrate working towards Chartered membership.
- Experience in safety behavioural programs.
- Experience in developing safety management systems.
- Experience in event management.
- Experience in auditing against ISO 45001.
