Closing Date:Saturday 08 April 2023- We have an exciting opportunity to join our busy Myos House, Extra Care Housing for People living with Dementia as a Community Rehabilitation Officer.

Our aim is to ensure that a person can remain at home and feel confident to live independently as possible.

We work in partnership with other health and social care professionals to provide a person-centred service, to prevent avoidable admissions to hospital and long term care.

Myos House 'helps people do things for themselves' rather than 'doing it for them' through support programmes that enables people to optimise their daily living skills and well-being.

The role will involve working with individuals and their circle of support to maintain their confidence and continue living well with Dementia - based on their abilities and strengths and those of their family and community.
  • We are on site 24/7, 365 days to provide support for their assessed needs and to attend in emergency situations.
As a Rehabilitation Officer you will need to be solution focused, have the ability to motivate others, have excellent decision making and interpersonal skills and be able to work autonomously in complex situations.
You will also be responsible for providing appropriate day to day supervision of a designated number of Reablement Assistants, to include supervision, observations, and competency assessments.
  • In addition, following training you will be required to as a key trainer, providing moving and handling training and guidance to staff within Myos House.
  • Post holders will be expected to be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to their post and may be asked to perform other duties, which reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility including direct personal care.
