Description

We are looking for a motivated, forward-thinking individual, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment who will ensure our fleet of hiabs, artics and grab lorries are efficiently routed and utilised to their full capacity.

This role will be based in our Barrhead depot with hours of work Mon-Thurs 8am-6pm or 7am-5pm, Fri 8am-5.30pm or 7am-4.30pm (on a rota basis) and every 3rd Saturday morning.

An attractive remuneration package is available to the successful applicant.

What you'll be doing:

Ensuring the efficient collection and delivery of heavy/small plant as well as a variety of loads such as house kits, containers, drill rigs etc.
Accurately entering all movements into computer for invoicing purposes.
Ensuring collection/delivery information communicated to/from Drivers is fully understood, actioned, and closed out.
Disseminating information to the hire desk and accounts teams as required.
Planning and communicating the movement of abnormal loads in line with legislation. A good knowledge of ESDAL is required. Coordinating the use of special type vehicles (eg extending trailers, step frames, low loaders).
Assist in ensuring vehicles and trailers are at relevant service providers in line with legislative requirements for MOT and 6 weekly inspections.
Maximising both vehicle and manpower utilisation by generating back loads where possible.
Ensuring performance and compliance to all laws and regulations.
Maintaining relationships with existing and new customers

About you:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and in writing.
Excellent planning skills, eye for detail and previous experience in a similar role.
Accustomed to working effectively in a fastpaced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities.
Computer literate across the Microsoft suite. Experience of Syrinx is desirable, although training will be given if required
Knowledge of road transport legislation and the management of driver hours.
A good knowledge of Scottish geography and roads.
