Contract:
Full Time, Fixed term until July 2023

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary:
£25,565 - £27,747 pro-rata

Responsibilities include:

Being a Learning Coach providing learners with support; guiding students to help them understand their learning styles; utilising coaching processes to enable students to learn more effectively.
Providing support for literacy, numeracy, digital skills, ESOL and academic writing at all levels from preentry to HE and professional; guidance on UCAS statement writing; delivering study skills sessions (e.g. academic writing, presentation skills; time management, plagiarism and referencing).
Using appropriate support methods in a range of contexts, including

- in-class, appointments and drop-in sessions
- one-to-one, small group and whole class
- face-to-face and online;

Liaising with teaching staff to maximize students' development, identify underlying reasons why support is needed and implementing a variety of techniques such as referral, setting targets and building learners' motivation and confidence.
Assisting teaching staff in the utilisation of the Wales Essential Skills Toolkit (WEST) to ensure the completion of initial assessments and progression of learners' skills.
Recording support accurately in digital formats, tracking learners' progression, developing and updating online resources.
