Purpose of the role

  • The Heidelberg Materials International Business Service Centre provides administrative and transactional services to inscope HM companies.


The Master Data team manages the control & integrity of all data relating to Customers, Vendors, Treasury & cost centres.

Key accountabilities- Work collaboratively and inclusively with Support Workers and the wider center to assign work Provide professional and transparent responses to any information requests from internal BSC stakeholders Proactively share information which will be of interest to BSC stakeholders, including information regarding Support Worker availability and competencies Support team in resolving their issues as they arise and supports if they are struggling with work Chase Support Workers and Internal BSC Stakeholders for required information regarding availability and performance Ensuring that the team provide excellent customer service; guidance and support to internal and external customers. Ensuring team wide compliance with appropriate processes and controls - leading efficiency improvements and resolving any issues as required. Managing the team to ensure first line support and non-standard query requests processed effectively, resolve and deal with any escalated issues. Ensure the team accurately work within agreed SLA's on a right first time basis. To work with high levels of integrity and confidentiality. Ensuring appropriate records are kept and enabling accurate reporting. Lead and promote department and wider P2P Hub initiatives and personal development. Drive and motivate the team to ensure targets are met. Lead departmental evolution and innovation, supporting the team through any change program. And any other task requested by your Department head or any P2P Hub senior manager. Manage, motivate and develop a team of up c. 30 administrators.

Within the department, this role is also responsible for:

  • Use & management of SSC ticketing tool-
  • Creations and amendments of new accounts for Customers, Vendors, Treasury & cost centres-
  • Validation of all creations and amendments-
  • Support SSC accounting department with the monthly opening & closing of ledgers-
  • Management of weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual validation reporting-
  • Transacting of bank payments in line with robust control processes-
  • Maintenance of bank accounts, to include direct debits, standing orders, reconciliations etc.-
  • Support manager with all audit controls-
  • Ownership of closing cockpit processesThe role holder is expected:

  • To have basic Microsoft Office (excel).-
  • To have excellent data entry skills.-
  • To have excellent written and oral communication skills-
  • To comply with all aspects of the Heidelberg Materials Compliance Policy.-
  • To ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place.-
  • To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation.-
  • To update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required.-
  • To comply will all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company.
  • Education/Qualification
  • 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) C and above.-
  • Experience working in OCR, or similar.-
  • Languages beneficial.
