Job Description 1


INTRODUCTION


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Camera, Tickets & Collisions Unit as a Business Support Assistant (BSA) working at Stevenage Police Station.


ABOUT CTC (Cameras, Ticket & Collisions)


CTC is responsible for the administration of speed enforcement on the roads across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, through fixed and mobile speed, and red light cameras, processing tickets for endorsable and non-endorsable offences and the administration of traffic offence reports.

CTC is also responsible for the administration of all road traffic collisions across the three counties.


The unit prosecutes first hearing guilty pleas for traffic offences as well as preparing road traffic offence files for court, investigating some camera offences and collisions, as well as assisting the public with enquiries and insurance claims.


The unit's main role is to increase road safety, working with the Road Policing Unit and local partners, to change attitudes and behaviour on the roads, ultimately saving lives and reducing crime.


THE ROLE


The main purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to enable the efficient provision of service and to contribute to the vision, purpose, and values of Hertfordshire Constabulary.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Dealing with a range of enquiries, some complex, either in written form, personal contact or by telephone or webchat
  • Providing information to members of the public
  • Liaising with outside organisations and suppliers both internal and external
  • Effectively operating computerbased systems
  • Providing a broad range of administrative support


This role has a secondary element, which is to support the wider CTC and therefore, the post holder as well as their team members may be required to undertake various other administrative tasks.


Experience & Qualifications:

You will need effective verbal and written communications skills to carry out this role.

You will be a confident individual who has excellent attention to detail with a positive and flexible approach to working.


  • Experience in the /use of IT and a good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Experience in working in an administrative role
  • Experience in operating a range of office equipment
  • The ability to demonstrate excellent customer service

Hours of work:

Full
- time 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday and Friday 08:00 - 15:30. Part-time hours will be considered 20 hours per week - salary pro-rata.


On occasion the post holder may also be required to travel within the Tri-Force area to attend meetings and training.

As such possession of a valid UK driving licence would be an advantage. These additional working and travel requirements may be negotiable and will be reimbursed in line with Force Policy.
