Working in our Customer and Social Value Team in Highways, you will supporting multiple Highways projects in the South East.

You will be responsible for the co-ordination of the planning, delivery, and reporting of social value activity across our Highways business, as well as supporting cross-business initiatives.


What you'll be doing
The Social Impact Advisor will support projects in the South East to achieve their social impact commitments through:

  • Engage and build positive relationships with clients including National Highways and local authorities to identify their social value aims
  • Develop social value plans that align with business and client requirements for our projects
  • Engage with and support our supply chain to align their social value delivery with our project objectives
  • Lead third sector engagement and build partnerships to deliver our commitments at a project and regional level
  • Collect projects' social value and social sustainability outcomes and report these through internal and external systems
  • Monitor supply chain performance and ensure supply chain data and evidence collected is compliant with our standards and auditable
  • Design and coordinate cross business unit social value initiatives aligned to our Building New Futures Sustainability strategy
  • Coordinate community based volunteering
  • Develop education content and coordinate and deliver workshops within schools in areas of STEM and construction
  • Work collaboratively to ensure our social value activity is widely promoted internally and externally
  • Assist in the delivery of Equality Diversity & Inclusion strategies and plans
  • Support Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) audits on site.

Who we're looking for

  • Be able to demonstrate a passion for delivering social value in the areas within which we work and motivate others to do the same
  • Previous experience of delivering social value projects
  • Previous experience of leading community engagement activity
  • Able to collaborate with and build relationships with a range of stakeholders both internal and externally
  • Be able to proactively communicate social value activity via social media and other internal and external communications channels
  • Experience of project management, data collection and management
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure whilst remaining calm and focused
  • Willingness to travel regionally and nationally as required
