The Role:


Support the management team in the day-to-day operations of the distillery, responsible for carrying out work instructions safely and to a high standard.

Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment. Work closely with the manager and production team to ensure efficient and safe distillery operations. Strive for operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take part in plant setup and commissioning.
  • Assist with development of SOPs, KPIs, PPMs for site operations.
  • Ensure work is completed with strong adherence to internal standards for health and safety, environment and quality.
  • Deliver distillery objectives aligned to key performance indicators.
  • Carry out tasks across mashing, distilling, utilities, deliveries etc within distillery operations.
  • Ensure high housekeeping standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Liaise with contractors to carry out maintenance, servicing and any other works.
  • Take responsibility for own work and support other team members.
  • Operating and monitoring distilling equipment, including stills, tanks and pumps.
  • Conducting quality control checks on raw materials, fermented mash, and finished spirits.
  • Maintaining accurate records of production, including batch records and quality control data.
  • Participating in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Following standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality of product.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Job will require manual handling.
  • Previous experience in distillery operations, brewing or related fields.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team.
  • Problem solving is essential.
  • Great work ethic and willingness to learn selfdevelopment.
  • Able to analyse production data.
  • Able to communicate effectively within and outwith business boundaries, including suppliers and contractors.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of distillery production techniques.

£20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
