The Role:
Support the management team in the day-to-day operations of the distillery, responsible for carrying out work instructions safely and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take part in plant setup and commissioning.
- Assist with development of SOPs, KPIs, PPMs for site operations.
- Ensure work is completed with strong adherence to internal standards for health and safety, environment and quality.
- Deliver distillery objectives aligned to key performance indicators.
- Carry out tasks across mashing, distilling, utilities, deliveries etc within distillery operations.
- Ensure high housekeeping standards are achieved and maintained.
- Liaise with contractors to carry out maintenance, servicing and any other works.
- Take responsibility for own work and support other team members.
- Operating and monitoring distilling equipment, including stills, tanks and pumps.
- Conducting quality control checks on raw materials, fermented mash, and finished spirits.
- Maintaining accurate records of production, including batch records and quality control data.
- Participating in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
- Following standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality of product.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Job will require manual handling.
- Previous experience in distillery operations, brewing or related fields.
- Ability to work well independently and within a team.
- Problem solving is essential.
- Great work ethic and willingness to learn selfdevelopment.
- Able to analyse production data.
- Able to communicate effectively within and outwith business boundaries, including suppliers and contractors.
- Have an excellent knowledge of distillery production techniques.
