An opportunity has arisen for a HR Business Partner to join a great law firm in either of the firms Manchester or Sheffield offices.


It's a new role which will develop HR's presence and visibility in these offices, outside of London in already well established business teams.


As part of the HR Business Partnering team, the HR Business Partner will provide the HR service to allocated business divisions to support them in achieving their commercial goals.


The HR Business Partner will need to have strong HR experience, ideally gained within a partnership environment, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

They will also need to be well versed with key HR processes (including reward,performance and appraisals), with demonstrable experience of handling employee relations matters.


There is also the opportunity to support on wider HR initiatives and projects, including an ongoing HR transformation project to improve the way the firm works as a global HR team.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Build meaningful relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Lead projects within the team as well as wider HR projects when required.
  • Carry out and lead on cyclical HR projects/tasks.
  • Work in conjunction with the wider HR team globally to ensure best practice.
  • Support, develop, mentor and coach more junior team members (where applicable)
  • Drive strategic thinking and influence stakeholders
  • Manage relevant processes and resource including budget management.
  • When required, take on the lead role in managing HR calendar activities to ensure a joined up approach with the wider HR team and Business Partners.
  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge of the Benefits and Policies
  • Be interested in and upskill in external HR thought leadership
  • Act as a Trusted Advisor by building relationships across all business services teams to ensure a consistent approach and service.
