Description

In-house Editor Role

Fresh Cut Video is a small, dedicated team of video experts, creating short-form content for big brands, universities, and charities.

We specialise in corporate and promotional material, but also have a track record in documentary, commercials, live streaming, podcasting, and social content.

We're currently branching out into entertainment TV, and have filmed several high-end pilots in the last six months. Our films have been seen by millions of people.

We're based in a vibrant, up-and-coming area of Oxford, and we produce work for clients across the city as well as frequently travelling to London or further afield.

We're always the first port of call for whatever imaginative video projects our clientsthink up, so we have to be constantly on the ball and ready to tackle a huge variety of challenging and rewarding productions.

This can mean working the occasional weekend and staying in a hotel when we are away from Oxford (usually a Hilton and usually justone night)

About the In-house Editor role
Prerequisite
:3 years commercial experience minimum, this position requires you to hit the ground running

Ideally, we'd also like you to have input into the broader filmmaking process - you'll take on some Assistant Producer responsibilities, and you'll also have the opportunity to direct on set if you want to.

Your eye for editing will inform both of thesesecondary roles, as you'll develop a good sense of how to design the production to make sure you have everything you need when you sit down to put the film together.

You'll be the fourth person on the in-house team (we also have roughly 15 freelancers who regularly work for us), so there's plenty of scope to take on lots of responsibility, while being supported by tight-knit teammates.

You'll also assist on other teammembers' shoots and edits where necessary, and you'll have time set aside to build your skills in a particular speciality, e.g.

colour grading or After Effects. On more demanding projects, you can draw specialised technical support from our network of freelanceexperts, particularly for animation.

We'll equip you with the best technology we can, your edit suite boasts an RTX 4090 graphics card with colour accurate 32" screens.

We work off shared storage in the office which means you'll be editing off arrays of solid state drives with built in redundancy.

Everything is in place to help you excel, and if you spot an area we could improve on - we'll sort it.

We're looking for someone who's enthusiastic, positive, creative, and ambitious.

You should be confident and friendly, always ready to jump on a call with the client to talk about the project, and full of ideas about how to make great video content.

Youwill most likely have 2-4 projects to oversee at any given time, so a certain amount of your time will be spent managing projects and making sure they happen on time and to-brief.

It's worth noting that as well as exciting and engaging projects, there are also a fair amount of mundane jobs on the cards at any given time.

We're a young, dynamic, flexible company, and as such you can mould this role to your particular set of skills and interests.
