SWORD Engineering Ltd is a small, family run business based in Wem, Shropshire. Due to an increased workload we are seeking a mechanically minded, competent Fabricator / Welder with at least 5 years proven experience to join our friendly, committed team in the fabricating and manufacturing of recycling equipment and associated steelworks.

Duties will include but not limited to:

Bespoke Fabrication from drawings
e.g. conveyors, trommels, access platforms, walkways, safety rails, stairs etc
Welding (MMA/MIG/Stick)
Cutting, Drilling, Grinding
General mechanical duties to assist other engineering staff when required
Maintaining a safe and tidy workplace and reporting any faults/hazards, in accordance with Company Health and Safety requirements
Varied workload weekly within a small and friendly team

Experience & Skills Required

Competent MIG / MMA Fabrication and Welding Skills with at least 5 years proven experience
Level 3 NVQ minimum qualification in Fabrication and Welding
Must be able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
Be able to measure and cut materials accurately
Adhere to health and safety procedures
Able to work on their own initiative or within a small committed team
Mechanical skills
Fitting and installation experience desirable
Fork lift license highly desirable

Due the nature of the environment, we are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for fabrication and welding and an appetite for mechanical engineering.

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM -flexible to suit

Salary:
£16.00-£18.00 per hour

Expected hours:
No less than 37.5 per week
