The Role
The Glasgow Distillery was founded in 2012 to bring independent single malt whisky and premium spirits production back to the city of Glasgow.
The distillery is now an established maker of a range of fine spirits including an award-winning range of single malt scotch whisky, blended malt scotch whisky, gin, vodka and rum.
Customers around the world enjoy the distillery's premium brands every day which are made with authenticity, transparency, and passion.
Independently owned and industrious to its core, The Glasgow Distillery is one of the most exciting and contemporary spirits producers in Scotland and was named Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year in 2020.
The distillery's portfolio of award-winning premium brands include: Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Malt Riot Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, Makar Gin, G52 Botanical Vodka and Banditti Club Rum.
The Role
We are looking to recruit new seasonal staff to work in our winter shop based in Glasgow city centre.
With multiple roles available, the job will involve providing excellent service to our customers looking to purchase something from our wide offering of premium spirits in the single malt whisky, blended malt whisky, gin, vodka and rum categories.
With full training provided, the right person for the job will be able to help customers choose the best product for them, whether it be for themselves or a gift.
The flexibility to occasionally work at the distillery (based in Hillington G52 4XB) would also be beneficial, as there will be as there will be hours available to help with day-to-day tasks within the distillery including e-commerce order fulfilment, product packaging and more.
These roles will run from October 6th to the end of the December 30th. The store will be open between 10am and 6/7pm with shifts varying between these hours. Applicants will need to ensure that they have the right to work in U.K. All applicants must be 18+ due to the nature of this work.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing the store for daily trade (Cleaning, Display Setup etc.)
- Serving customers and providing them with knowledge of the products.
- Providing samples.
- Keeping the store presentable.
- Managing stock levels to ensure that nothing goes offsale.
- Reporting to the distillery when backroom stock needs replenished.
- Ensuring all products are secured and the store is locked up at the end of the day.
Desirable Experience and Skills
- Experience in a retail environment is desirable.
- Stock management and organisation experience would be beneficial.
- Existing knowledge of the spirits and alcohol industry is beneficial but not essential.
- The ability to travel to the distillery which is based in Hillington G52 4XB.
