Description
We are an animal care business that provides boarding for small animals to private contract clients. The animals we care for range from dogs and cats to small animals. The clients we work with require exceptional standards of service.

Due to growth, a unique and exciting opportunity has now arisen for you to join our team. This is a rare and sought-after opportunity in the animal care profession.


The role
As a Kennel and Cattery Assistant, you will be required to:

  • Perform daily cleaning duties for all types of small animals
  • Manage special feeding requirements and dispense medication according to instructions
  • Vigilantly maintain the health and safety of all animals
  • Ensure all animals are kept in a wellgroomed condition at all times
  • Walk dogs of all sizes and training levels, with varying needs
  • Maintain an exceptionally high level of hygiene and tidiness across the premises
  • Drive the company vehicles to collect and deliver animals as required
  • Perform manual lifting in accordance with our policies and procedures
  • Complete any related administration to a high standard
The standard working days for the full time role will be Sunday - Thursday, with overtime available on occasion. Weekend positions available include Saturday and / or Sunday (depending on your availability).


The successful applicant
First and foremost, you must be a self-starter with a passion for, and experience of working with animals.

The environment is demanding and fast paced; you must be able to multi task and work to an incredibly high standard, ensuring all requirements are met in line with our policies and procedures.

We are looking for an individual who loves animals and has experience of working with them.

This role is physically very challenging, with lots of heavy lifting and a small amount of administrative work alongside the physical.

Therefore, you must be capable of completing paperwork accurately and using basic Microsoft packages.


Essential requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A recognised qualification in Animal Care
  • Full, clean UK driving license
  • Your own vehicle (due to the location)
  • Able to work weekends and bank holidays
  • You will be required to undergo a DBS check
  • Be able to undertake a physically demanding role
