Social Care Officer

Contract:
Initially 3 months, may be extended to 6 months

Full Time: 37 hours per week

Salary - £14.80-£15.96 per hour (depending on qualifications)


Location:
Falkirk

10 days worked over a 14 day period, including every 2nd weekend (flexible)


The Social Care Community Partnership are looking to recruit 2 Social Care Officers for Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership.

The purpose of this role is to assist the home care Team in providing services to eligible client groups through direct clientcontact, including agreed levels of assessments and support along with any other relevant duties.


Key Responsibilities

  • To provide supportive visits to clients either as directly allocated to them or as a component part of a care package monitored and supervised by a Home Care Manager.
  • To participate in the assessment of clients' needs and to assist clients and their carers in maintaining their independence.
  • To maintain accurate records and compile reports relating to work with clients.
  • To undertake general welfare functions benefits advice, budgeting, transportation, escort duties etc. and liaise with other agencies as appropriate.
  • To deliver, uplift and demonstrate the safe use of equipment.
  • To carry an allocated workload as considered appropriate under the direction of the Home Care Manager.
  • To prepare and be available for supervision.
  • Personal Care/Hands on Support may be required on occasion.
  • To undertake such other tasks as may be required and directed by the Home Care Manager/Team Manager.

Experience/Skills

  • It is essential that you are a car driver.
  • Experience working with older people.
  • Experience in writing assesments and Care packages.
  • You must have a nonjudgemental attitude.
  • Must be able to make supportive relationships.
  • Must have IT experience
  • Microsoft Office is desirable.
