Funded by the South East London Cancer Alliance an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Breast Screening Administrator within the South East London Breast Screening Programme.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person to join our administration team. Providing first class administrative and interpersonal skills. Your primary role will be to address health inequalities as we move forward with Breast Screening recovery. Specifically, but not exclusively, engaging with clients with additional needs to access and attend their screening appointments.

This will involve working with other team members, the Office Supervisor, Office Manager and Central Hub.

You will possess excellent communication skills, be able to prioritise and organise a varied workload and be IT literate with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Part of the role will occasionally require reception duty so a previous experience in a customer service role is essential, as well as a proven track record of working as part of a team

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To engage with clients who require additional support in accessing and attending their screening appointments. Addressing health inequality.
  • Perform reception duties at 104 Denmark Hill screening site, which involve checking client details, previous screening images and preparation of clients for mammography screening, observing clients patient privacy in accordance with Trust regulations.
  • Make and change Technical Recall appointments that come through to the office.
  • Re direct any family history, assessment calls or calls intended for either the Hub or Breast Care.
  • Action incoming post in regard postal returns, and incoming films from other screening offices to
be updated on National Breast Screening System (NBSS)

  • Following set protocols prepare and remit films and paperwork to and from other screening offices.
  • To run reports highlighting previous films to be requested from Iron Mountain storage and to request films from IM on adhoc basis.
  • Receiving films from IM to be checked and put into their relevant clinics.
  • Preparation of paperwork and data sticks of screening clinics to be distributed to mobile units and clinics.
  • Accurately maintain the filing system. Returning films to offsite storage when screening is completed.
  • Accurate data entry of registration and clinical details of screening clients on NBSS.
  • To extract and upload information and documents to BS Select (National Database).
  • To check all client forms post screening to ensure that all radiographic and radiological
procedures have been adhered to, to ensure that clients receive the right result.

  • To return screening packet to Deputy Service Manager if there is noncompliance, with
accompany reason form, if is deemed that there is non-compliance to the Right Results protocol,
and to highlight any anomalies.

  • To check results findings following film reading against the NBSS system to generate a routine
recall letter to the client and a GP report to her practice. Inform the Hub once clinics have been
finalised and reconciled so that they can release the letters.

  • Participate in audits as directed by the Office Supervisor.
  • To ensure that incoming digital Images are actioned on PIMS and NBSS ensuring that images
are brought into the hospital PACS system for reading.

  • Advise any requesting Screening Office of imaging date and accession number to facilitate an
IEP request for any images done under the South East London Breast Screening Programme.

  • To complete all mandatory training in line with Trust
