The Role of a Mentor : Our staff travel to the student and work with them either in the home or in the local community, depending on their specific needs.

We aim to improve self-esteem, confidence in social skills and engagement through professional guidanceto encourage our students to experience more of the world.

We build a mentoring relationship by discovering their interests and sharing ours which may be through sport, craft, museum visits, or any social interaction or situation.

Our standards and expectationsare high but are not always easily measurable so it will be necessary for applicants to demonstrate their experience and describe how they would improve the lives of our young people.

Experience of working with young people with SEN will be required.

We provide wraparound guidance, education, nurture and professional mentoring in both Dorset and Hampshire. The majority of our contracts are currently in Southampton, Winchester, The New Forest and the surrounding areas. We work with young people who havebecome disengaged from school and society.

This may be due to conditions such as ADHD, autism, anxiety, behaviour leading to exclusion, school phobia, drug addiction, family issues, trauma and many other factors.

Requirements:
- a reliable car
- driving licence with Business Use insurance
- experience of working with young people who have extra needs
- excellent references

Reward:
Full-time Term Time hours: 20-30 per week Monday to Friday
