WorkFlow Services Ltd is a new and forward thinking organisation which provides project, cost and commercial services to the construction, engineering and utilities sector.

We offer a range of services including pre and post contract management for all aspects of public and private sector construction and engineering projects.

We work with a variety of clients from subcontractors, main contractors and employers / clients across all sectors from civil engineering, property development and new build developments with a big focus on gas and electrical utilities.

WorkFlow Services are looking to support our client in the gas industry. The Construction Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services according to company's needs and demands.

Working in close collaboration with our Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and Site Managers this key role will ensure the procurement and timely delivery of goods and services required by the business.

Key skills and competencies

Liaise with preferred and specified suppliers and manage the demands of longlead items and realtime demand from our project sites.
Collaborate with site personnel, design teams, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
Perform market research, competitor analysis, product evaluations and testing, monitoring purchase orders and creating reports for the Management Team.
Analyse specifications to determine suitability and/or possible alternatives.
Identify and assess potential suppliers and products.
Collate quotes and negotiate suppliers terms and delivery times.
Update and issue orders following design/price changes.
Produce and maintain procurement schedules.
Ensure compliance with the safety, health and environmental requirements
Deal / solve issues and any challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials

Your profile:

You will possess excellent negotiation skills
You will possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to negotiate competitive prices, commercial terms and ensure on time and budget delivery
5 years+ buying experience.
Experience of utilities/ construction procurement and technical skills preferred.
Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications
Understanding and abstracting technical information from drawings and specifications, and schedule related materials
You will be selfmotivated and comfortable working within a fastpaced environment.
Computer literate
Applicants will require a current driving license.

Qualifications

CIPS Level 3 or 4 or a related degree preferred.
Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Salary:
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
