Role Overview:

Based at IMI Headquarters, Birmingham.

This role is to support and, where required, lead Information Security / Data Protection initiatives and operational IT Security tasks, to minimise risks consistent with business strategy for the IMI Group.

The role may involve an element of international travel, depending on business needs.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Management of Groupwide compliance to IT Security standards and policies.
  • Development and implementation of policies, standards and controls.
  • Ensure thirdparty compliance with applicable IMI security standards and policies.
  • Undertake risk assessments of information security controls, including the formulation and management of risk treatment plans.
  • Create, develop and drive IT security improvement plans.
  • Review and approval of security change requests.
  • Production and delivery of management reports.

Critical Competencies for Success:


  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Solid and demonstrable experience in IT Security operations and management within a multinational environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT Security technologies and associated tools including MDR, EDR, SIEM, SOAR, endpoint / server protection and incident response.
  • Sound understanding of security standards (e.g. GDPR, RIPA, ISO/IEC
  • Security risk management (including assessment and treatment).
  • Coordinating and managing penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
  • Establishing and managing security incident response procedures.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management frameworks (e.g. ITIL).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and engage at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Willingness to accept delegated responsibility.
