Purchase ledger support

  • Sales ledger suport
  • General office duties

Responsibilities:


Purchase Ledger Support:


  • Assist in processing and recording purchase invoices.
  • Verify invoice accuracy and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of purchase invoices into the ledger system.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve paymentrelated queries.

Sales Ledger Support:


  • Aid in the preparation and processing of sales invoices.
  • Assist with credit control activities, including chasing outstanding payments.
  • Accurately record sales transactions in the ledger system.
  • Respond to customer queries regarding invoices and payments.

General Office Duties:


  • Provide administrative support to the accounts department.
  • Maintain organised and uptodate filing systems for financial documents.
  • Assist with data entry tasks, including updating spreadsheets and databases.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence related to accounts.

Training and Professional Development:


  • Participate in onthejob training to develop a strong understanding of the purchase and sales ledger processes.
  • Work closely with senior members of the accounts team to gain practical experience and knowledge.
  • Prepare for and complete AAT examinations to obtain the qualification.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • No prior experience is required for this position.
  • A keen interest in finance and accounting is desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and accounting software (training will be provided).
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
