Description
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Cranes Engineer to join on an initial 18-month contract.

As the Cranes Engineer, you will be responsible for the supplier management of the cranes maintenance and working at heights contract and the statutory inspection(LOLER, PSSR, LEV, Power press etc.) contract.

Your role as a Cranes Engineer will also involve Capex investment planning, project leading and support, Opex Planning and Delivery and Supplier Management to meet with the Airbus objectives and challenges.

Tasks

  • Support the Hard Services Manager, Broughton and the Maintenance and Energy Manager for Strategy and Process.
  • Ensure all safety incidents are managed through the supplier and clear actions agreed and recorded.
  • Supplier management through KPI's and SLA management.
  • Ensure all quotes received and raised within good time and goods receiving on the airbus click n buy tool.
  • Provide spend profiling requirements for recurring costs and capital investment.
  • Manage costs within departmental budget with regular reviews with local finance teams.
  • Identify cost saving initiatives by means of improvements and/or performance.
  • Ensure process confirmation of Services delivered.
  • Ensure crane uptime through asset trend analysis, continuous improvements, practical problem solving, Airbus CMMS interrogation.
  • Daily SQCDP meetings with the suppliers.
  • Ensure all risks identified associated are logged within Airbus risk management tool.
  • Ensure 5year strategy is defined and continually updated and promulgated to the internal Performance and improvement team to update master CAPEX files.
  • Support and develop the crane specifications using maintenance experience to ensure that cranes being replaced not only meet site and regulatory requirements but also considers any existing maintenance or operator issues.
  • Support the development of the FM Strategy of Airbus.
  • Support the Cranes project manager on delivery of crane install projects on technical / maintenance requirements.
  • Drive the Airbus safety culture on site with internal teams and suppliers environmental, health and safety, security procedures, documentation, audits.

Qualifications:


Skills:

A technical background within the lifting industry, with known requirements of legislation, regulations and codes of Practices that relate to all types of lifting duties (as defined in BS7121, LOLER, PUWER).

Self-motivation and ability to operate within yourown initiative. Two-way communication skills with the ability to influence others and present to senior management. Knowledge of crane installations, handling systems, lifting accessories, vacuum lifting and statutory compliance is essential. Understandingand knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, permits to work and safe systems of work. Knowledge and experience of working at height. Experience of handling large high value components. Knowledge and experience of PLC controlled systems Flexibility to respondto abnormal out of hours demands on occasions.
Accountabilities

The first point of contact for escalations within the business for Cranes maintenance, working at height maintenance and statutory inspection issues.

The FM site focal point for any issues regarding LOLER, this includes attending and contributing to the monthlysite lifting review.

Drive and support initiatives to contribute to the EADS Savings programme using the levers of harmonisation / standardisation / demand management / Supplier management.

Establish and develop specification and technical evaluation criteriawhich will support Procurement in the Tender, Contracting and Supplier review process to deliver the appropriate service provision, within the agreed budget.

Develop an efficient supply chain capable of delivering goods / works / services matching businessobjectives and requirements. Actively contribute to implement Continuous Improvement through Best Practice and Innovation within your own team and supplier base. Establish and Monitor Spend, identifying Risks and Opportunities to ensure adherence to budget.
Identify a Crane replacement / refurbishment strategy and rolling programme with consideration for Life Cycle analysis and asset performance. Managing of statutory inspection compliance and supporting the business with any escalations. Ensure full investigationsof crane breakdowns are carried out in line with SLA's. Ensuring all date records are kept for the plant to guarantee compliance to appropriate legislation and maintenance. Utilisation of Airbus CMMS systems. Maintain Asset, PPM, and Statutory Records.
