The radiotherapy physics team within cancer care at UHD are excited to be taking on a level 6 apprentice on the Healthcare Science Practitioner Training Programme (PTP) from September 2023.
The apprentice will learn the theory and practice of carrying out technical aspects of radiotherapy, such as creating custom patient supports, planning personalised radiotherapy treatments and performing quality checks on linear accelerators.
The apprentice will complete the Healthcare Science Practitioner (Medical Physics Technology) BSc at the University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol alongside work-based learning at Poole Hospital.
Completion of all aspects will lead to qualification as a Healthcare Science Practitioner in Radiotherapy.
