We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic graduate to join our Bioanalysis Group at Pharmidex, based at our laboratories in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

The primary function of the group is to provide bioanalytical support to studies in Drug Discovery and Development, evaluating the pharmacokinetic properties of compounds as potential new treatments for diseases.

As a graduate entrant you will be trained to carry out analysis of biological fluids and tissues using liquid chromatography - mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

Initially your training will cover the whole process from sample receipt, through preparation, analysis and reporting.

As you become proficient at these steps you will be encouraged to learn more about the whole drug discovery and development process; why studies are done, the rationales for the various study designs in different therapeutic areas, and interpretation of the data (typically through derivation of pharmacokinetic parameters).

You may then progress to liaising directly with clients, dealing with their queries and assisting with their understanding of the results.

To succeed in this role you should have several basic attributes:

• A degree in Chemistry, or with Chemistry as a major component.
• Good practical laboratory skills and enjoyment of working in the laboratory environment.
• Some experience of practical analytical work in your course.
• Good literacy, numeracy, IT and communication skills.

Salary:
£18,000.00-£20,000.00 per year
