Description

Join Our Summer Internship:
Where Design Meets Innovation

This summer, we're on the hunt for emerging talents in design and research eager to dive into the world of cross-disciplinary team projects.

If you're passionate about translating your academic knowledge into real-world solutions, our internship is your launchpad

Why choose us?
-
Impactful work on real projects: Dive into client projects that matter. Experience firsthand how research and design shape the commercial landscape and witness the tangible impact of your contributions.
-
Collaborative cross-disciplinary teams: Beyond design, our internship offers a holistic view of project development. Collaborate with developers and project managers to see how your designs contribute to broader organizational goals.
-
Unparalleled support & learning: Thrive under the guidance of a project lead, a design mentor, and a dedicated line manager. Engage with our extensive research and design community for answers and assistance whenever needed.

Experience the dynamism of working in a cross-functional team, focusing on UX, UI, or research to craft user experiences that resonate.

Under the mentorship of industry veterans, join a crew of designers and developers committed to creating solutions that users adore, from client projects to initiatives addressing needs within Softwire.

What you'll do

  • You will work within a cross functional team of interns, led by a project lead and supported by a design mentor to bring a client's vision to life
  • Conduct workshops, interviews, surveys and focus groups to gather the information needed to realise a highquality outcome
  • Put together service blueprints, journey maps and content outlines showing how your product works at a high level
  • Design prototypes and highfidelity designs as your interface becomes more and more real
  • Collaborate and share insights with nondesign team members to ensure they are aligned at each step of your process
  • Work closely with developers, involving them in the design process and collaborating around constraints and solutions
  • Test your product with real users and analyse findings with team and stakeholders to learn lessons for the next iteration

Who we're looking for

Are you a student in design, psychology, technology, or a self-taught creative with a project showcasing your passion? Whether freshly graduated, mid-degree, or seeking your first professional experience, this opportunity could be yours.

We're not looking for perfection, we're looking for honest, fun people who are willing to give it their best, not afraid of making mistakes, who are curious, eager to learn, and ready to explore the realms of design and research together

What we would expect from you

  • Creative problemsolving skills, ready to embrace new challenges.
  • A genuine interest in user research and crossfunctional teamwork.
  • Proficiency in or willing to quickly learn design tools like Figma.
  • A humble attitude to learning and the team environment you don't need to have all the answers, and that's completely OK
