Applications are invited to provide Consultant leadership within the well-established East Assertive Outreach service in Birmingham with a caseload of 120 including acute inpatient episodes.

Assertive Outreach teams provide intensive support to people who are suffering from a mental health problem and are at their most vulnerable.

The service supports people who have historically avoided contact with mental health services by using a flexible and creative approach to engagement.

Contract is part-time 8PAs, however there is an optional 2 PAs available for those interested to provide consultant leadership for Hertferd House, 10 bedded Intensive Rehabilitation unit.


You will participate in an (approximately) 1 in 25 on call rota and you will be supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team, medical staff and secretary.

The Trust is committed to continuing professional development and Applicants must have full registration with the GMC, MRCPsych or equivalent, Section approval, approved clinician status and CCT accreditation in General Adult Psychiatry or within 6 months of obtaining CCT.

Experience in Acute Psychiatry is essential.
