About the School
The Governors of Rice Lane Primary School and Nursery are seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic assistant caretaker to join our friendly and supportive school team.

About the Role
Working Hours: 1.15 pm pm
Personal Qualities:
We are looking for someone who have:
- Is able to repair basic items using machinery, ie drills, grinders, pressure washers or floor polishers
- Has the ability to communicate with outside agencies either verbally or written
- Understands the requirement of storing cleaning items (COSHH)
- Can work unsupervised and has the ability to prioritise their own workload

Core responsibilities and tasks
- Act as a key holder, carrying out security procedures for the buildings and grounds
- Assist the site manager with enquiries from external contractors on site
- Undertake additional cleaning to support the cleaners
- Assist the site manager in carrying out general first line repairs redecoration and maintenance
- Take delivery of stock and materials for the school
- Assist the site manager in carrying out porterage within school, move furniture and equipment, as required, assist in setting up for assembly's events etc.
- Assist the site manager to ensure that all caretaking and cleaning equipment is in a safe and working condition and arrange for repair as appropriate
- Assit with the supervision and training of cleaning staff in the absence of/ as requested by the site manager/ head teacher
- Carry out school based emergency procedures e.g. in the event of fire
- Report to the site manager any damage and assist in organising any necessary repairs
