We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team at Smith & Co Chartered Certified Accountants based in Blackpool.

Salary:
£16,000 - £25,000 commensurate with age and experience


Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.
• Assist in monthend and yearend closing activities, including the preparation of financial statements and VAT returns.
• Perform data entry and maintain documentation of financial transactions.
• Provide clear and concise financial information to management when necessary.

Qualifications:

Although all training will be provided where necessary, to excel in this role you should possess:

• A solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Previous experience in bookkeeping or a related role is preferred but not necessary.
• Proficiency in using accounting software (Xero, Quickbooks, Sage etc) and MS Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• An ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
