Description
A well established firm of Solicitors based in Blackburn, are currently seeking a qualified Accountant.

As the Accountant you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts team, producing management profit and loss accounts and balance sheets for the business, completing forecasting and budgeting for Senior Management and all other related tasks.


The key tasks will include:
Producing Management accounts including; profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, budgeting and forecast reports for the business
Produce and present to Senior Management; monthly financial reports.
Ensuring Client and office banking including inputting invoices and sending out cheques and producing paperwork for BACS payments are completed
Completing Management accounts for the Company Supporting members of staff with their workloads and ensuring tasks completed as set.
Conducting various ad-hoc analysis for senior management
Attending relevant training as required.
Occasionally travelling outside of the office.
Liaison with HMRC, Customs and Excise and other related authorities

Maintaining knowledge of and adhere to the requirements of the rules and the accounting requirements of SRA Handbook and SRA Accounts Rules.

Oversee Payroll processing tasks and step in as necessary
Produce and present to Management monthly KPI reports

Personal Specification

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential:


  • Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA,)
  • Proven record of Team Management
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • IT skills
  • Organisational skills and highly meticulous
  • Microsoft Office incl word, excel
  • Payroll Processing experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of GDPR and Equality Standards
  • Uptodate with MLRO regulations

Desirable:


  • SRA Code of Conduct and SRA Accounts Rules
  • Previous experience of working in a law firm
  • Previous experience with Proclaim case management software
