Employer Engagement Officer (EEO)
Fixed Term (12 months contract)
28 hours Per Week
JOB OUTLINE:
Under the direction of the Service Manager, the EEO will provide an employer engagement service integrated into the Solihull Employment and Skills Team to provide additional support to employers that promotes and actively encourages inclusive employment to local employers.
The activities will be delivered primarily within the North Solihull area but will be accessible to all and the activities provided will benefit Solihull residents and employers in the Solihull area.
POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION:
In this role, you will be responsible for providing an employer engagement service integrated into the Solihull Employment and Skills Team.
MAIN RESPONSBILITIES:
Develop educational materials, workshops, and webinars to promote diverse hiring practices, including success stories of inclusive businesses.
Establish partnerships with local chambers of commerce and industry groups to promote inclusive hiring practices.
Coordinate closely with Solihull E&S, WMCA, Solihull LEP, armed forces, and DWP.
Provide guidance and resources on disability accommodations and legal requirements.
Offer training programs for managers and HR professionals on disability etiquette and accommodation implementation.
Leverage DRC's Disability Confident Leader status to support employers with assessments.
Provide personalised assistance to employers in the recruitment process, including job postings and interview accommodations.
Offer ongoing support to address employment challenges and upskill existing employees.
Collaborate with AEB, Bootcamps, and WMCA for targeted upskilling initiatives.
Explore tax credits and financial incentives for hiring individuals with disabilities.
Secure access to IT equipment through partnerships and government initiatives.
Identify available support and incentives for economically inactive disabled individuals, including Access to Work programs.
Engage with local communities to raise awareness about inclusive hiring practices.
Advocate for policy changes to remove barriers to employment and promote equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities and those facing long-term unemployment.

Be a role model, leading by example in practising the Values of DRC to achieve our Vision and Mission.
Play an active and supportive role within the organisation.
Take ownership of all administrative aspects of the role.
Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to work undertaken and ensure all confidentiality materials are stored according to DRC's Data Protection and Data Security Policies.
Treat all staff, volunteers, and clients fairly and without prejudice, in line with DRC's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy and adhere to all DRC policies and procedures.
Be adept in employing the correct procedures for dealing with any safeguarding incidents or concerns in line with DRC's Safeguarding policies.
- Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in line with needs of DRC and the team.
