The post holder will be a key member of the central corporate senior operational management team.

This is a team that leads the running and redesign of clinical and operational services across all parts of the health system and supports the delivery of clinical and operational services in AB.


They will lead service improvement, programme, project planning and delivery on behalf of the Director of Operations function including providing support to Divisions, facilitating delivery of key areas of the Health Board strategy aimed at improving services across the 'whole system'.


The post holder will be responsible for identifying innovative and transformational service design and improvement opportunities, in line with the Health Board strategy.

The role then provides project, programme and tactical 'hands-on' support to Divisional teams to deliver the change with the Division and across the health system.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is the operational name of Aneurin Bevan University Local Health Board.

The Health Board was established on the 1st October 2009 and covers the areas of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and South Powys.

The Health Board employs over 14,000 staff, two thirds of whom are involved in direct patient care.

There are more than 250 consultants in a total of over 1000 hospital and general practice doctors, 6,000 nurses, midwives, allied professionals and community workers.
