    General Practitioner Role at Ministry of Defence

    Pertemps Medical is seeking a skilled General Practitioner to join our team in support of the Ministry of Defence (MoD). As a General Practitioner in this role, you will be working alongside a talented team of professionals who share your commitment to high-quality clinical care.

    We are looking for a dedicated and experienced General Practitioner who can provide exceptional patient care and support our growing team. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality medical services.

    The salary for this role is £100k pro rata + expenses, and payment type is outside IR35. The contract length is initially fixed-term for 2 years, with potential for a permanent role subject to terms and conditions. The contract type is part-time, with hours typically worked on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 08:00.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct medical assessments for new recruits to the Royal Navy, Marines, and Reserves.
    • Review patient records and perform thorough examinations.
    • Discuss findings with senior Naval clinicians and make recommendations for further action.
    • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality medical services.
    • Ensure accurate and robust record-keeping and adhere to clinical governance guidelines.

    Requirements:

    • Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK).
    • Full Registration with the GMC and record of Continuous Professional Development.
    • Good organisational and communication skills.

    This role requires full participation in the appraisal and revalidation as required by the GMC. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient safety, high clinical standards, and robust team support.

    The location for this role is one of four onshore Royal Navy/Marine bases across Great Britain, including Gosport (HMS Sultan), Exmouth (CTCRM Lympstone), Rosyth (HMS Caledonia), and Cardiff (HMS Cambria).
