Job Description - Bar Management Supervisor (3 month trial)
Job Profile
The Supervisor performs task & duties given to him/her by the Bar Manager that are vital to the smooth day-to-day operation of Grangemoor Working Men's Club.
Overall Job Responsibility
The Supervisor is responsible for managing, monitoring and controlling all aspects of club and its facilities when the Bar Manager is not on shift.
The key aim of this role is to provide club members with a consistently good experience by achieving and maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hospitality.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Supervisor reports to the Bar Manager & his/her duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Takes pride in a job well done, committed to achieving high standards of service, cleanliness and hygiene.
- Is punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
- Is well organised and able to manage his/her working time efficiently and effectively.
- Good knowledge of nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages
- Is able to effectively supervise the work performed by bar staff club cleaners.
- Ensures that staff are knowledgeable about the product range available and the appropriate pricing
- Ensures that all staff fully understand their obligations under licensing legislation
- Ensures security measures such as successfully closing and locking doors and windows as well as setting the burglar alarm are consistently performed by all relevant staff.
- Adheres to the club's fire procedures and ensures all appropriate staff have adequate fire related training.
- Ensures all fire exits remain clear and easily opened. Ensures fire doors remain closed.
- Ensures that effective systems are in place to reconcile cash received with till roll totals at the end of his/her shift
- Plans and manages the purchase of wet and dry stock when the Bar manager is on holiday or has a day off. Ensures sufficient stock is available at all times and that stock is in date and correctly rotated.
- Cleans lines from the cellar when the Bar Manager is on holiday or on a day off before weekend trade begins.
- Responds promptly to matters raised by members or their guests. Ensures that all issues are dealt with and that they are recorded for review by the committee.
- Keeps sensitive information confidential and informs the committee of matters requiring their attention.

The Relief Bar Manager will be expected to comply with any reasonable request from the Bar Manager to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description.
The Relief Manager must be willing to undertake any training relevant to the role that may be required.Live in Accommodation is not applicable.
