Training and Resourcing Planner (Resourcing Planner)

Salary:
£25,875 - £29,439 plus on call allowances.


Hours:36.25hours per week (some weekend working required)

The Role:


This exciting opportunity is ideal for somebody who is committed and willing to go the extra mile to help support our organisation's development, as well as their own professional and personal development.


The opportunity involves providing daily co-ordination of all operational resources across Greater Manchester, giving organisational and general support for colleagues and external customers around operational cover within GMFRS.

This will include managing rosters and availability of operational staff in a highly effective and busy team and working alongside all levels of operational staff across the organisation.

Some of the main responsibilities include:

  • The daily management of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Services operational resources to meet organisational need on a daily basis.
  • Liaison with senior officers to discuss and advise on upcoming and forecasted resource issues.
  • The collation and approval of all types of leave requests including Special Leave, Maternity and Paternity, whilst maintaining organisational operational cover.
  • To support the team managers in the analysis of all areas affecting resourcing and the operational establishment, including the delivery of monthly statistical data to senior officers.
  • Liaison with other directorates in relation to a range of areas including the calculation of retirement/resignation leaving dates, medicals, modified duties and any other procedure as required.
  • Responsible for basic system administration of the Resourcing software (Gartan Roster) management of the shared mailbox and dealing with telephone queries.
  • Shift work based around the following hours and Weekend working required on a rota basis with shift allowance enhancements to pay.
