As Garden Supervisor (Ornamental), you'll provide vital support to the Gardens Manager in maintaining and presenting the ornamental areas of the Buckingham Palace Gardens to an exceptional standard.
Leading a talented team of Senior Gardeners, Horticulturists and Gardeners, you'll use your skills and expertise to care for shrub, herbaceous and rose borders and lawn maintenance.
Using your people management skills, you'll identify training needs within the team, liaise with contractors and monitor workload to ensure the right balance between ongoing maintenance and specialist projects.
When you're not out in the Gardens, you'll attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders, maintain the plant records database and review health and safety procedures and reporting.

- About youAs a skilled craft gardener, backed up with a relevant qualification (such as HND, ND / NVQ 3 or RHS Level 3 or even a Botanic or Garden Degree in Horticulture), you're exactly who we're looking for.
Your experience is ideally within a formal landscape context and you're familiar with the cultivation of a broad range of trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants as well as ornamental lawn maintenance.
Working closely with colleagues will be important to you, and you'll have an adaptable communication style and a collaborative approach to work.
Able to demonstrate a range of horticultural craft skills, you'll be well equipped to use the wide range of garden machinery we have here, including rotary machines and large mowers.
It's a busy environment, so your excellent time management and organisation will be an asset to the team.
With lots of initiative and a creative eye, you'll also be keen to contribute new ideas for developing the gardens and grounds.
