  • Previous Transport Planning experience required.

About Our Client:

My client is one of the UK Leaders in the Transport market, with a site based in Huddersfield.

Due to rapid expansion in the workforce, as a result of revenue growth and site relocation, the business are now looking to bolster their planning team with a Transport Planner for a permanent 4 on 4 off shift pattern, hours between 6am-6pm.


The Transport Planner will report into the Senior Transport Planner and be expected to work on a 4 on 4 off shift basis with hours between 6am-6pm.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders across all UK depots
  • Create a delivery plan which is effective and achievable
  • Manage workloads to meet demand and deadlines
  • Smart planning required to utilise vehicles effectively
  • Reviewing routes and suppliers to ensure transport is planned cost effectively and to maximise profitability
  • Communicating with sub contractors on a daily basis
  • Ensure any paperwork is filled in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations

The Successful Applicant:


  • Experience Transport Planning.
  • The ability to implement and react to changes.
  • Excellent team working skills collaboration, influencing, communication.
  • Analytical ability with good numeracy and literacy.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Excel.
  • A working knowledge of Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain.
