Chief Control Office Markets Monitoring

London


As a Barclays Chief Control Office Markets Monitoring, you will be responsible for developing and operating transactional [detective] controls that feed into governance and various supervisory reviews.

In your role, you will cover cross asset controls for unauthorised trading (UT) risk as well as business specific controls (e.g., monitoring FX benchmark executions and Last Look rejections for Algorithmic Auto-quoting).

What will you be doing?

  • Operating transactional controls, reviewing alerts /output generated, further investigating to determine underlying conduct and operational issues
  • Partnering with Technology to improve existing controls and developing new controls as required
  • Participating in Control forums, including preparation of Management Information (MI) and related reporting
  • Ensuring frameworks are implemented and managed effectively across aligned businesses, functions and horizontals
  • Working with senior stakeholders across the three lines of defence to ensure frameworks that regulate Senior Managers and Certified individuals are fit for purpose
  • Ensuring frameworks that regulate the use of Appointed Representatives comply with the regulatory requirements and are effectively implemented

What we're looking for:


  • Prior experience with Markets front office trading businesses, including a broad knowledge of trade/transactional data
  • Basic Project Management skills
  • Excellent Excel skills including extensive experience in managing large quantities of data, pivots, formulas, Vlookup
  • Experience of working in or within a Control type role /team and ability to demonstrate a risk management mindset

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Prior experience in a Controls, Compliance, or another organization that supports the Markets Front Office
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle, including experience with the Agile development
