Commercially brilliant, the sort of person who gets excited when they see a P&L; understands revenue, costs, and other key profitability drivers of our business, particularly those relating to digital propositions and lending.


Day to day you'll­

  • Manage the commercial performance of the Digital Wallet and associated revenue streams.
  • Track and manage performance of new revenue streams created by the wallet, including traditional payment processing, new payment methods enabled by the wallet and other new revenue streams enabled by the wallet.
  • Track and manage performance of Virgin Money products sold in the Digital Wallet and at checkouts, including new checkout lending products such as buynowpaylater.
  • Own and control costs related to the digital wallet platform to maintain cost/income ratios.
  • Identify and manage performance of key metrics associated with the digital wallet business that contribute to revenue and costs, including cost to acquire business and consumer customers, active wallet customers, engagement/time spent in wallet, and NPV'sassociated with payment processing propositions.
  • Support negotiations of new third party relationships from a commercial perspective.
  • Identify and build business cases for new commercial opportunities.
  • Work closely with Finance business partners to assess and manage the overall Digital Wallet P&L, identifying risks and opportunities and taking action to resolve.

To be brilliant you must have

  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Prior experience managing revenue and cost performance.
  • A brilliant grasp of numbers with strong Excel skills to support scenario modelling.
  • Prior experience managing performance of banking products.
  • Numbers focussed with the ability to spot patterns, trends, and opportunities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Able to think strategically, but also get handson and into the detail when needed.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels of the bank.
  • Selfstarting and driven to succeed.

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

  • Revenue and cost management experience with banking products.
  • Understanding of lending yields, interest and noninterest income, cost of capital/risk, and other costs with lending products.
  • Knowledge of how different banking products contribute to the P&L, including net interest margins, noninterest income, operating costs, and cost of capital/risk.
  • Prior experience in a P&L management, commercial or finance role.
  • Strategic thinker with one eye on the future while delivering success in the short term.
  • Passionate about all things digital and aware of the latest emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of digital propositions, including digital wallets, payments, and rewards.
  • Experience working with third parties and negotiating new contracts.
  • Able to assess risk/reward and fair value exchange to build strong winwin partnerships.
